As I Lay Dying's lead singer is released from prison after serving less than half his sentence

Lead singer tried to kill his ex-wife

As I Lay Dying's lead singer, Tim Lambesis, who was arrested in May 2013 on charges of soliciting murder, was released after serving less than half of his six-year sentence.

Lambesis was arrested after handing over $1,000, the address, and security codes to his ex-wife's house to a hitman who was an undercover police officer. He was sentenced to six years in prison without the possibility of parole. The vocalist had defended himself by saying that steroid use affected his mind.

The news of Lambesis' release came from Dokken guitarist George Lynch, whose daughter was engaged to Nick Hipa of As I Lay Dying. In an interview with Eddie Trunk, Lynch said that Lambesis would be released: “He’s out. He’s going to have a great record deal, a book deal, he’s got everything lined up. He’s going to live easily for the rest of his life. And the rest of the people are suffering. His wife is living in fear, his children are living in fear.”
